It was May-June 2013! Speculations were that Ranbir Kapoor who was riding high on the success of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani will soon start the Kishore Kumar biopic that has been pending for years. The actor pitches in a googly! He decides to open his open production company called ‘Picture Shuru Productions’ with Anurag Basu and announces Jagga Jasoos that stuns everyone!
Insiders have it that RK had phoned in Anurag to ask him what hed do with him next...and since there wasnt a convincing response on the other side, they decided to lock a title and announce it as their next film...And what happens to the story, script, co-actors, release date? Theyd obviously look into it later!
Circa September 2013, Katrina Kaif was announced as the leading lady of the film and the target was set for summer 2014 to release. Filming began only in the first quarter of 2014 which meant meeting the summer 2014 deadline was impossible. The deadline was changed to October-November 2014.
But even now, the film has a long way to go before it can be wrapped though a lot of portions have already been filmed in Pai, Thailand and Cape Town, South Africa with Ranbir playing a young detective in search of his father and Katrina playing his assistant who looks like the heroine of Little Miss Sunshine!
Given how much is left to be shot, the previous May 29, 2015 deadline has finally (we really hope) been pushed to August 28, 2015. Lets hope they keep the date this time! Anurag and Ranbir it seems have been strictly warned about the implications of another change of date!
